Suleiman Ali Nashnush 245 cm Libyan who was the tallest basketball player  at 2.45 m (8 ft ½ in). (b.1943 d.1991). Suleiman Ali Nashnush (1943 - February 25, 1991) is one of twelve individuals in medical history to reach or surpass eight feet in height. He was a Libyan basketball player and actor. In 1960, he successfully underwent surgery to correct his abnormal growth. He was one of the tallest basketball players ever at 8'0½" (245 cm) and played for Libya. The 1st tall athlete in the world.

Nashnush also had a small role in Federico Fellini's film Satyricon where he played the role of Tryphaena's attendant. He died on February 25, 1991.
